BOTSWANA NEWSFLASH

The
first elephant has been taken with Rann Safaris, in CT7
by Jared Rann. This is the first elephant taken in this
area since Elephant hunting re opened in Botswana 1996.
On
the 3rd day of hunting while filming an episode for
Federal Premium Ammunition ¡§Dangerous Game Series¡¨, an
Elephant with matching 6¡¨8in tusks officially weighing
73 / 74 lbs per tusk, was shot.
Over 100 Bull Elephants in this new area of over 2
million acres were seen in 3 days of hunting, and only a
small portion of the area was covered.
The
area will only get better as the extended season of
November 30th 2010 continues, with the limited water
between Hwange and Nxai Pan as the area boarders both
these National Parks.
Rann Safaris still has licenses for elephant available
in 2010 in CT7 and NG 35

OKAVANGO DELTA OPENS NEW
HUNTING CONCESSIONS FOR ELEPHANT
The 2010 Elephant hunting season
has been extended to November 30th FOR THESE
AREAS
These concessions previously not
hunted with exportable elephant licenses have
been auctioned this week.
NG35 - 4 Elephant to Jeff Rann of
Rann Safaris. This concession borders Rann
Safaris old Delta areas NG29 and NG 30 as well
as all the southern delta concessions ,NG32,
NG34 and NG43. NG 35 was the highest auctioned
price per elephant.
CT7 - 3 elephant went to Jeff
Rann of Rann Safaris. This concession boarders
CT1, Jeff Rann's current concession where Rann
took an 86 x 83 lb elephant in 2010. (attached
photo) CT7 was the second highest auctioned
price per elephant and is close to 2 million
acres stretching from the Hwange Game reserve on
the Zimbabwe border to CT1 & Nxai Pan Game
reserve. Rann ,personally saw an 80lb elephant
in this concession in April this year.
